I "introduce" residents in the Cedar Rapids Iowa FP residency and host them in our endo suite. After several cases I let them withdraw the scope. Not exactly credential ready training. I've told a few that if they took the procedures course, joined the AAPCE, and brought their own residency patients - I would try to get them numbers to get "proctor ready". To date, I have not have any trainee advance to private practice endoscopy - but I just started last year. In our critical access hospital I have about 250 colonoscopies a year and blend that in with my clinic to keep efficiency up.
